Online Journal 11

Another week has passed and I have managed to live through it. my main goal for last week was to do my powerpoint presentation. I had been working on it...saving pics I wanted to use and such. I changed my mind on what I wanted to do with it from a Photo Album to a story/scrapbook. I think it turned out pretty well. I left one blank slide in there so I can add a picture later. I didn't use any clipart in it at all. I may later on...we will see what my peer reviewers think of it first. The powerpoint my brother has was different than the one at school and so that caused a little bit of stress but it all worked out in the end. Turns out he had a template that looked like a spiralbound book, it worked really nice for my project. I mainly just fiddled around with powerpoint all week. I did have to learn a few things about downloading pictures and saving them to disks. Everything went pretty smoothly though. I was afraid that my PP wouldn't load up on my blog...seems as though that was a problem for some. Lucky for me though it loaded with no problems. The electric did go out of me though and caused me to have cardiac arrest thinking my PP may have gotten lost. It was still there though when I booted back up. WHEW...lucky again! I done alot of work on my Webliography page this week too. I just worked on it here and there. I found a cool quiz maker and added a quiz to my page. Mrs. McComas took it and scored a 60%...that was better than my own brother done. I thought it would be a cute little thing to add. Mrs. McComas reviewed two of my genres (webliography and newsletter), she seemed to like them pretty well. That obviously made me feel a little more secure about the rest of the MRP stuff. It makes it rough when you don't really know if you are doing what she is looking for. Well, I don't really have any questions other than am I going to survive the rest of the semester. Things are getting tight! Later!

Twenty-three more actual class days before the end of the semester. WHEW!! I have officially begun to count them down. This week has went fairly well. I have to admit I have felt like I wasn't going to make it at times. I had to go again and visit Van. I lost my mojo somehow or another. I got it back though. Seems like she can always stimulate my creativity even though she is only asking me what I want to say with my MRP. It's funny how I can just talk to her and then she says,"OK, this is what I am hearing..." I am the one saying the ideas so why can't I hear them for myself? Oh well, I guess two heads IS better than one. I was totally against the journal entry as one of my genres but on Friday I thought to myself...Self, what the heck...it won't kill you to try it. I tried it and it worked. It was much easier putting someone elses feelings (pretend Landon's pretend mom) in a journal than my own. I wrote it on Friday and thought about it over the weekend...the more I read it the more I liked it and was satisfied with my results. So now it can be viewed as Genre 6 on my MRP. I did however make a few revisions. I originally wrote it as a regular journal but then today I changed it because I thought alot of new parents keep a journal to their baby or write their child letters to read once they have grown up. I had to do a little change here and there to make it seem more real. I am proud of my results though, who would have "THUNK" it, Cindy writing a journal when she is not forced to! I have not really used any new methods for the latest genre. I have been doing some work for my Powerpoint though this week. Can't wait to get started on that. I reviewed my groups work earlier in the week and didn't get a chance to write anything so today I reviewed again...looks like they have been working on them already. It is neat to see someone elses work. I even viewed a couple other classmates work too just out of curiousity.
I don't really have any new questions. Once I start the powerpoint I am sure a few will pop up. My goal for next week is just to do my PP and the rest of my assignments without stressing out. Things in the 315 area seem to be getting better. Wish I could say the same for Spanish...test tomorrow...ugh!! Talk to you next week dear journal!!

Online Journal 9

Well, I have made it through another week. This one was not bad at all. I feel like I have all the time in the world to do the research on this weeks genre. I collected alot of valuable info that really helped to make my genre good. I decided to do an email exchage with my make believe mother Lisa and the Cleft Talk members on the mailing list she fictiously joined. It turned out really well- although I will have to check with Van about posting it as a file instead of as a story. I created a cute graphic and it will not accept the file because it exceeds the limit. I'll get it fixed though! I reviewed the last genre of my group and they are doing a great job. It is amazing how you can give 14 people the same instructions and have 14 totally different ideas! I love it! Everyone is getting really creative! Still debating the play thing! I got a great response from my mailing list about using pics of their children on my PP. Everyone is sooo helpful. They are wanting to see my work...guess I would be curious too! I almost forgot to do my Journal this week. I got all wrapped up in my genre and had everyone reading it and just about missed the time limit! As Mrs. McComas would say...ACK!!! It was very interesting doing the genre this week. I hope next week will be as productive! I have to get cracking on that PP. I will probably need lots of help! I didn't really use any new methods this week, basically I used Microsoft Word and search engines. I really learned alot though! Next week's goal...to do as well as this week!
Outta here,
Cindy
